I got my first doll..to play with....

...and it really surprised me which doll I like the best (in person that is)..it's Nellie!!! I have a Samantha that is premattel, but I just got her to display. Her hair isn't the best, but it looks wonderful fixed...I tried to "play" doll with dd using my Sam, her hair just didn't fair well, it's a bit more coarse. Anyway, I thought perhaps I would go for Marisol or Josephina and claim one of them as my dolls. I love their look online and in pictures I thinkgthey are gorgeous, but when I saw them in person, well, I just don't like their face. Some might remember seeing my other post on how I have tried to like them but just don't..it's so sad, because I love , especially Josephina's, stuff so much. Even dh thinks Josie and Mari are some of the prettier dolls. I considered the others, but most of them I really want to save for dd and I wanted one just for me to "play" doll with her, ya know? So I thought about Nellie, because she has the same face mold as Josie and Mari, I was skeptical...but I thought If I don't like her she can at least share Sam's clothes and if I REALLY don't like her I will just hide her for dd for down the road!

WELL I GOT HER IN AND I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited [img]tongue.gif[/img] I don't know why I like her so much, because it she has the same mold as Josie and Mari and I can't seem to "bond" with them at all. Maybe it's Nellie's strawberry hair, or those deep blue eyes like Kit, or her cute freckles and coloring...I dont' know...but I love her, she is just down right pretty to me!!!! ANd I can display her with my Sam, but take her down to "play" with!

I also got Addy's workdress to give her some "work" clothes and she is cute in that! And your right Osusannah, I love the little clothes pins that come with it. Can you believe my dd asked me what they were? She has no clue what a clothes pin is...I gotta get a bag at Walmart, I guess, just to show her what a clothes pin is. I remember the clothes line being the only way we dried clothes in the summer!

Another Addy item I got because I loved it in pictures, and it got rave reviews here and I must comment that it's the prettiest dress is the cape island pink dress with black trim...I love pink and black together!

Okay...I will stop now, but I had to share that I finally have a doll that I enjoy, not just display! So now, I am cool [img]cool.gif[/img]

The DH and I had quite a laugh ~ to think that's all I had growing up.

Congrats on Nellie - she very pretty and I have to agree that the strawberry blond and blue eyes are GREAT! Enjoy her!

I love Nellie, too! Much more than I thought I would. She is a stunning doll. I love the color of her hair! And how her outfit makes her eyes more blue.

Yay! I hope you enjoy her! Aren't those deep blue eyes amazing? I got Kit not long ago and was so surprised when I saw her eyes. I hadn't ever noticed the colour before.

I also got Nellie last week. She isn't coming out until Easter, but I have been looking at her in her box and I love her. She is far nicer in person than in the catalogue to me. I wasn't sure if I would like her, but I do. I am glad you are happy with you new Nellie. I also love the Cape Island dress. I think it is one of the prettiest AG dresses of all time.
